The Next to Godliness quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers one of the most entertaining side adventures involving the eccentric young lord, Hans Capon. After recovering from the hunting trip in the main story, Henry is invited to join Lord Capon at the local Rattay bathhouse for an evening of relaxation and wine. Because this side mission operates on a strict time limit, players must approach it with careful timing and preparation to avoid failing the objectives.
Meeting Hans Capon at the Rattay Bathhouse
To begin this quest, speak with Hans Capon while he rests in the upper floors of the knights barracks in Rattay. He will ask you to meet him at the local bathhouse near Peshek's mill during the evening hours. Make sure to arrive after dusk, as going too early will leave the bathhouse doors locked.
Once inside, Capon will challenge you to play a game of dice against Zdena, the bathmaid. Whether you win or lose, Capon will then instruct you to strip down and join him in the hot tub. You should store your equipment in the designated chest to prevent issues with item progression later in the game.
Infiltrating the Rathaus Cellar for Sylvan Red Wine
After settling into the tub, Lord Capon requests a specific vintage known as Sylvan Red wine from the Rathaus cellar. Retrieve the key from Capon's trunk inside the bathhouse before heading toward the town armory in upper Rattay. Locate the small exterior staircase behind the Rathaus building to access the locked cellar door.
Inside the cellar, a guard will likely intercept you as you search for the wine barrel. You can persuade, charm, or bribe the guard into letting you pass without starting a fight. Grab the pitcher, fill it directly from the wine barrel, and carefully head back to the bathhouse.
Gathering Flowers for Klara and Resolving the Conflict
Upon returning with the wine, Capon asks Henry to complete one final task by picking a bouquet of fresh flowers for Klara. Head to the upper castle garden to gather dandelions, sage, poppies, and roses in the required order. Picking these plants before receiving the explicit request will not advance the quest goal, so timing remains essential.
When you bring the flowers back to the bathhouse, a jealous local villager named Archibald interrupts the evening. A brief brawl ensues, forcing Henry to defend Lord Capon's honor using basic hand-to-hand combat skills. Afterwards, you will wake up the next morning outside the bathhouse to finish the quest by speaking with Capon once more.
